Weekend Roundup: murder plans and pork chops
It’s Saturday! What are your plans for the weekend? We are hosting an open house at our rental home in Roseville today, which to me is like running the ultimate yard sale. (I LOVE having yard sales – the thrill of talking with the wackos who were lured in by my handmade signs, selling crap, walking away with a lump sum of $72. It’s magical.)
We posted it on Craigslist three days ago and have since received about 50 calls on it. Judging by the hysteric interest people have expressed in it, I’m thinking it could be a circus. I hope some weirdos come, that should make it all the more interesting. We’re also hoping that my parents can watch Baby G tonight so we can sneak off for a date.
Anyway, it’s time for Weekend Roundup, where I list some random stuff from my life and from the Internet.
Yesterday I was distracted for a minute to send a gossipy text message to Joe when Baby G stood at the coffee table and knocked over my cup of joe, spilling it all over the rug. Thankfully it had been sitting there a while so it was cold. I learned my lesson to … only gossip when you can really focus on your material.
Speaking of texts to Joe, look at how romantic we are with each other.
I made this smothered pork recipe for dinner last night. It tastes like a pig swimming around in a bath of french onion soup. That doesn’t sound great? Fair enough, but it tasted really good. Next time I might make it with a leaner cut of pork, or chicken.
I replaced the milk with extra chicken broth and it turned out fine, just a heads up for anyone dairy-free.
This short post from Momma Roars made me belly laugh, because it’s so true.
Have a great weekend!
